If you were exposed to Monsanto’s Roundup® and have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma, you may be entitled to financial compensation.

On July 10, 2018, United States District Judge Chhabria issued a groundbreaking ruling that gives a greenlight to current plaintiffs with non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma to sue Monsanto.

The plaintiffs have alleged that they contracted non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma (NHL) as result of exposure to Roundup. Judge Chhabria’s ruling states that the plaintiffs provided enough scientific evidence to proceed to trial against Monsanto Roundup.

Accordingly, expert scientists will testify before juries about the carcinogenic potential of Roundup and the cancers it may cause. Those juries will next weigh the question of whether or not Monsanto’s marquee product has injured thousands of Americans.

If you were exposed to Roundup, and have contracted NHL, call us Toll-Free: (888) 890-1334 or submit Request Free Consultation form to explore your legal options.

Monsanto Roundup Multidistrict Litigation

Currently, the Monsanto lawsuits are composed of individuals that are victims of exposure to glyphosate; the majority of them are agricultural workers, garden center workers, nursery employees, and landscapers. However, many Roundup victims were simply exposed at home or lived on the edges of farms. Glyphosate can be absorbed through the skin, and higher doses of it may result in a higher likelihood of cancer.

State Level Litigation – Dewayne Johnson v. Monsanto

Although the current Multidistrict Litigation is in the Federal Courts, other plaintiffs are proceeding in State Courts. For example, Dewayne Johnson v. Monsanto is a case filed in the State of California and is the first case to proceed to trial against Monsanto. The jury trial began July 9, 2018 and is currently underway. Mr. Johnson worked as a school groundskeeper for many years and developed fatal cancer in his early forties, allegedly as a result of exposure to Monsanto Roundup.

Why are there lawsuits against Monsanto?

Why are there lawsuits against Monsanto?

The lawsuit alleges that Monsanto manipulated research on glyphosate in order to obscure any connection between cancer and glyphosate. The attorneys allege that their motive in doing so was to protect glyphosate from any inference of cancer because that might hurt Monsanto’s profit margin. At this point it is unclear when Monsanto learned of the potential association of their product and increased risk of cancer. Those who suffer from the aforementioned cancers and have a qualifying exposure history may hold Monsanto accountable.

Does Glyphosate Cause Cancer?

Whether or not glyphosate causes cancer is the central question the Multidistrict Litigation is posing. If you or a loved one has been exposed to Monsanto Roundup® and have been diagnosed with non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, chronic lymphatic leukemia, hairy-cell leukemia, or B-cell lymphoma, that individual has the right to press Monsanto to answer the public’s questions about glyphosate. The plaintiffs continue to compile the evidence that may prove glyphosate does cause cancer. If you or someone you know has work-place exposure to Roundup and has been diagnosed with cancer, call us.

The Dose Makes the Poison

Glyphosate is everywhere and fat soluble. That means that, over time, glyphosate will be stored in the fatty portions of the human body, in the same way that some essential vitamins and minerals can be stored in fat. An individual who is exposed to a product like Roundup at high volumes, such as an agricultural employee, is virtually certain to accumulate more and more glyphosate in their blood and fat. For such an individual, it is likely only a matter of time before glyphosate accumulation reaches a critical threshold in a person and compromises the body’s immune system.
